"Our stay was short but was relaxing. The beds were so comfortable, and the staff were really helpful. Especially the morning staff during the Arora tour mad morning rush. :) at breakfast."
"Clean place with friendly staff, the best part is the restaurant in the lobby. The internet was very choppy during my stay and I cudnt find an outlet close to bed to charge my devices. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay."
Charming Retreat with Stunning Views in Yellowknife's Prestigious Neighborhood
8/10 Good
"The house is conveniently located in a calm neighborhood within walking distance from almost anywhere in Yellowknife's downtown and Old Town. A cab from the airport was about 20, and from there we didn't need access to a vehicle at any point during our stay. There's convenient parking and many shops and services nearby. We felt this was a functional place to stay the night for 5 people, though our group found the kitchen and common spaces sparsely equipped for our group of adults. We tried to communicate with the property manager and owner during our stay to request a kettle and enough bowls and cups for 5, however we didn't hear back for a long while, so we ended up going out to buy them ourselves. Rooms were generally clean and comfortable. The house needs some maintenance (broken glass panel on balcony, lamps missing switch handles/dials, broken deadbolt on big bedroom patio door) but nothing that negatively impacted our stay. The beds were comfortable and we had enough towels. All in all, this house is a great place to spend a few nights in Yellowknife if you're planning to be out and about exploring most of the time."
"good value & location for aurora season accommodation. Located in a residential area but within minutes (driving) to the airport, grocery store, downtown, old town, and the Ingram trail."
Cozy Northern lights retreat in Niven Lake w/ stunning lake views
10/10 Excellent
"I truly cannot say enough about this wonderful home! This was our first trip to Yellowknife, and this rental was perfection. Gorgeous views - during the day, beautiful foliage surrounding Niven Lake - at night, Lady Aurora! You truly can see the northern lights right from the deck! The home was comfortable, clean, spacious. I absolutely love Yellowknife and this rental - so much so I almost wanted to gatekeep and not do a review. Ha! But, seriously, it was such a great experience that I am returning with my mom next year. So that should say it all!"
"The property is as it is described. The apartment has ample space and is bright and airy with a lovely view from the balcony. The kitchen is well stocked with necessary appliances and has a nice dining area. The living room is nice but there is only 1 couch- it would have been nice if there was at least a love seat or comfy arm chair but we made do. The beds were comfortable and we had ample towels. There are two bathrooms however one has a tub only and the other a shower so is different than how it is described. The owner was home (upstairs) during our stay however we never heard any noise coming from her apartment. The only downside was the communication with the host after the booking. I had to reach out the day of our stay and request arrival instructions and those that when we did receive them were incorrect as we were given the incorrect property address and incorrect door code! After we were unable to contact the host after numerous attempts we ended up finding the apartment on our own and had to wake up the owner upstairs to let us in. (Thankfully she was home!) We did not hear back from the host until the next day - apparently VRBO messages where not being reliable is what we were told. That next morning there was no hot water - however I guess those things happen and it was fixed that day. The owner did leave us a generous apology gift which we thought was very kind of her!"
