"It's easy to stay at a generic box type hotel. The Strand has pedigree (See Raffles and E&O). It's a beautiful building with high ceilings. Beautifully decorated and clean. Very pleasant staff. Quiet and tranquil. Stay here for your first visit to Yangon, and you can always stay at a generic, branded hotel on a subsequent visit."

"The hotel is super nice with great new staff, limited food in the hotel and activities, should consider another social bar or club area as the hotel is very big, maybe even a night club. No hot tub, no 24 hour activity kinda makes no sense as staff stay overnight anyway. "

"I requested for refund as there is no booking confirmation at all when I arrived at the hotel. Hotel.com refused to refund back to me. Please advised."

"The area was nice as it was off in it's own corner away from the busy downtown streets, was no issue getting a Grab to go anywhere as well. Staff was always nice and inviting and there was a piano they allowed you to play in the bar area. The bar/club downstairs was interesting but the music they played was extremely loud so we had to sit far in the back away to hear/talk to people."

"This is my first stay at Excelsior. I have a fondness for Myanmar heritage hotels. The welcome was seamless and friendly. The room is very clean. I like the firm pillow and comfortable bed. Overall, the room was well equipped. This property is highly value-for-money recommended. I shall come back again. "
