"We had a lovely one night stay in August, booked for a Balloon ride locally. The annexe is attached to the owners house but perfectly private. Set in a small courtyard and garden, the walk up the wooden staircase leads to a secret and very private BBQ and wooded area with fabulous views by day and magical, twinkling fairy lights at night. The property had a cosy, luxurious feel throughout with a well-equipped kitchen and a spotless, spacious shower room. The basket of local goodies for breakfast...

"I booked on a room only basis but you could add breakfast at any point. I liked that all you had to do was go in to the dining room and give your room number. It was £15 each, all in. There is a cold buffet and hot food was made to order. The only thing that would have made it better, was if you could have the cold buffet only (say for a reduced price), as i dont eat cooked breakfasts, i only have toast or cereals. So to still pay £15 for toast and coffee is way too pricey! The room was spacious and clean, and very quiet. I paid extra for an executive twin, so was expecting a few upgrades to a standard room. However the furniture was very dated, the carpet was quite stained in one area, and the bathroom was oldish. HOWEVER, it was all very clean. Which to me is the most important! I did enquire at front desk to see if i was in the right room, and was told the only difference having an executive room is the bigger size!! Nothing else! So i wont pay extra for an executive next time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very neat and tidy, freshly painted and new carpet (in most areas). I will definitely stay again, on a room only basis, but will just pick a standard room next time. My room was very quiet. Away from the road and carpark. Perfect for me. "
"Breakfast was very disappointing. Had an early flight so went down for breakfast at 4:30am. Got hot chocolate from machine -came out looking disgusting- very watery. Not a single croissant or pain au chocolate - staff member said we would have to wait 10mins on them coming out of the oven. Sorry but when already up early and in a rush for a flight this was unacceptable. Rest of selection very poor!"
"Our stay at the same hotel last week was disappointing and reflected in our review for that stay. The main problem centred around us having pre-paid for breakfast but the hotel staff on the day saying that the paid for breakfast was not on their system so refused to serve us. Having returned for this business related set of stays, the hotel staff still maintained that our booking was not showing the pre-paid breakfast but as this was proved otherwise previously, they served us this time anyway. There is obviously still a glitch that is stopping the hotel from accurately seeing the Hotels.com booking details fully so not ideal. We have not had this problem before from Hotels.com or Holiday Inn but there it is. "
"Our 2-night stay was a pleasant one overall. We were pleased that the carpark had plenty of EV charging spots. Upon check-in we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff, who told us we had been upgraded to a room with view of the Severn Estuary.
Our room was clean and the view was indeed beautiful! It had some newish UPVC windows put in and was well insulated (and quiet). The radiators worked fine and we felt the temperate was just right. The room was bright, spacious, had a seating area and a large walk-in closet. The bed was king size and comfortable. Hairdryer in the drawer of one of the bedside tables.
The bathroom could benefit from further renovation: while the shower pressure was good, it took a while for the hot water to come out. The bath tub was quite high, so one had to be careful stepping in and out. There was no rail or handle on the wall or side of the tub for support - this wasn't so much of a problem for us but could be tricky for guests with mobility issues. Also, we noticed an unpleasant sewage smell drifting from the toilet so we had to keep the toilet lid and door closed at all times.
We think Walton Park is a good option for those wanting to spend a day or two in Clevedon. Note it is a 15-minute walk to the shops and restaurants (which are all located away from the pier), but the hotel is well located for coastal walks and the view of the estuary is unbeatable.
"
"Room was separate from main building - across and down the street! Suffered disturbance from folks banging on external door and shouting/ carrying on. Happened on 2 nights of a 3 night stay. When we turned up, was thinking of making it a regular stopover - not so sure now."
"Nice clean room, tv in room signal not good at times, staff friendly , good choice of food available both evening meal and breakfast. A small hiccup with food order in the evening but rectified when paid for."
If you're looking for something a little different than your standard hotel experience, a stay at a bed and breakfast could be the perfect alternative for your trip.
