Great location close to Windmill point marina for bigger boats. We had a great time crabbing from the dock and kayaking out to the sandbar to visit the rays. Easy drive into Whitestone and Kilmarnock.

Older farm house in good condition with modern amenities. Quiet, private location for a relaxing week away. Only wish was to know the channel route out to the big water. The neighbor was kind enough to show us the route. Sweet dock for the boat and fishing!

Comfort and Beautiful Views

The house was clean and everything we needed was provided. Almost every room has a view of the water and the sun porch and living rooms are very comfortable. We had a great time on the kayaks and mucking around the dock. We caught 10 blue crabs and a beautiful grouper as well. There were 7 of us and it was perfect for us. ( The Chesapeake does have stinging jellyfish this time of year. ) I would highly recommend this property.

Girls’ weekend

So much fun to stay in a 1917 farm house. Unfortunately didn’t appear haunted but we did have a mouse visit last night. We probably should have anticipated that in a farm house & put our snacks away better. Loved the view, the hot tub, firepit, the very comfortable beds, the veranda/sunroom, etc. We would’ve made use of the kayaks had the weekend not been a total rainout. We did make good use of the rain boots for a beautiful walk. Perfect getaway location.

Best time at Little Oyster

My family cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Little Oyster. The owners responded to all of questions quickly and ensured that we had everything we needed. The house is close enough to grocery stores for anything you might need and our only recommendation would be to bring water shoes for swimming. We caught plenty of fish and crabs for a seafood feast! Will definitely keep this on our list to look into for future stays.

Island Times

Great location. The water is just 50 feet from the sun porch. That room is the best, all windows, a TV, small dining table. My 2 year old grandson loved being there and loved the outside, particularly the little beach. The kitchen was fully stocked and a delight to use, facing the water. Bedrooms had direct water views. The room spaces had doors and gates available so we could keep an eye on our toddler. My son-in-law fished daily. I took three kayak trips, one to a remote beach. Golfed up in Quinton Oaks. There was more but you get the picture! Thanks Michael and Elizabeth!

Family memories made

From start to finish our family vacation this year was absolutely amazing. Michael was an amazing host and always responded to questions quickly. He also let us know that we could check in earlier than planned because the house was ready! The house was perfect for my family. The restored house was perfect and cozy. We explored the waters, caught crabs in the crab traps, enjoyed watching the sea life (jellyfish and sting ray), fished, floated, kayaked, played lawn games, enjoyed morning coffee in the gazebo and night time soaks in the hot tub. We cooked amazing meals in the well stocked kitchen and enjoyed games with the family on the sun porch in the evenings. We had camp fires and the kids enjoyed late night movies in the family room. Beds were comfortable and the house was nicely cooled by central air and added window ac units. We were sad our vacation had to end....but have so many amazing memories! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home! Megan

Family vacation

We typically do an OBX vacation but wanted to switch it up this year. This house was the perfect layout for our family (my parents, mother in law, sister + cousin, and us + our daughter) and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. The kitchen was easily the best stocked I’ve ever seen for a rental. It is very isolated (don’t expect a nightlife or anything like that) but the views could not be beat. Almost every room in the house had an amazing water view. We ate crabs from Miss Mary’s literally every night (the owners provide a very nice list of places to eat/shop around). We had a plumbing issue that was immediately dealt with, they were so responsive to any messages or questions we had. The dock was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the weather, tan, fish, and crab. We tied a floating raft to hang out on for a couple of days during a visit. They provided kayaks, and we brought our own paddle boards. If you stay in this home you have to go out on the water! It’s clear and warm and there’s a lovely sandbar not far from the house where we watched string rays swim for hours. If you want an escape from it all, or a great spot for a family vacation this is the place!

Northern Neck Nirvana!

This is a lovely property inside and out. We were a group of seven family and friends with ages ranging from 21 to 76 who vacation together yearly and everyone voted this their favorite trip and property. The water views are stunning (and can be enjoyed from almost all of the house) and the yard is lovely with wonderful "old-fashioned" southern landscaping that included gardenias and hydrangeas. A nice long dock and plenty of water activities for everyone. Lots of fun eateries around plus a fully stocked kitchen for preparing and enjoying the incredible local seafood available. Definitely a little slice of heaven on the "rivah".

Weekend Family Getaway

We had a great time fishing, swimming, oyster and crab hunting. Caught some strange looking fish and all if our kids had a blast. The adults enjoyed the hot tub and kayaking. The house was amazing, beautiful and clean. Spaced out for plenty of room. The water and the dock were great. The kids played out there most of the time, even in the misty rain. We can't wait to go again. Thank you so much!!

Absolute Perfection!

Stunning property, well maintained and loved. The house had plenty of space for two families to stay comfortably. Out back provides breathtaking views from the yard, deck, or hot tub. The pier is perfect for fishing and crabbing. The private beach and shallow waters were perfect for sand castles and tons of swimming. Many memories made and we will definitely be returning
