2/5 - Disappointing
Wales burg is ok but this hotel is unacceptable.

The room was clean. Staff was outstanding. In particular, Quentin was one of the most cordial, welcoming and courteous hosts I have ever encountered. Great job! And, thank you!

It was a pleasant stay in a clean, sparingly yet comfortably appointed room. In its 'heyday' it was a very nice place with attractive and appealing architectural details. It is well maintained today and I, at 81 years of age, appreciate its vintage and comfort. I will visit again.

This was a very relaxing place to stay. Very nice rooms. Loved the back yard. The only problem was my dog is a little old. So kinda had to help him up the stairs. The kitchen had everything to cook with. The grill was out of propane but otherthen that was a great stay. Will definitely be back...

If you stay in Walsenburg, Breakfast at Tina's is highly recommended!
The town looks as if it is coming back after a downturn. Cute coffee shop and restaurants near our hotel. We stopped in Walensburg to sleep on our journey to Great Sand Dunes National Park.
Larger town than we realized but old and run down. Looked like some effort had been made to keep the downtown area in business. Nothing but bars were open when we got there in a Sunday.
Nice shopping district, beautiful old buildings, close to historic/aercha Lathrop State Park has much to do: golf, walking/running trail, canoe, paddle-boat, kayaks available for rent.
Seems like a dying town.
