"Excelente hostal para quedarse en Hydra, muy bien ubicado rodeado de restaurantes y tiendas de souvenirs, cerca del puerto excente Dimitri su anfitrión muy amable y atento !! AC bien frío en verano, abundante agua fría y caliente Smart TV y Wifi . Todo lo que necesitas para pasar unas muy buenas vacaciones en esa encantadora isla de Hydra."
"This is a beautiful small hotel in the heart of Hydra. It does involve a walk up the hill from the ferry port but you need to do this in most of Hydra. The hotel offers a service to help with your luggage but we did not use this.
Breakfast was across the small road from our room in a lovely shaded outdoor space."
"The setting is spectacular and it is a beautiful grand old hotel. Some of the furniture in the rooms needs to be updated. But it is gorgeous- especially front tooms with balcony."
"Arrived early. Very accommodating in offering shower facilities before room is ready and after checkout.
We were not in the main hotel but in the downstairs Family room – 2 connected rooms.
Bathroom a little tricky in first room, with steps up and down and not enough room for shower. We used the shower in the second room, which was small but slightly better.
Breakfast included and was fine with lovely shady courtyard to sit in to eat.
However, not enough attention to detail for actual function, for example the bathroom taps were fitted too far back, and the water did not go properly into the basin, but over the back of the basin – hard to get your hands in to wash properly. Also, there was a kettle in the room, but the wire was so short that it was not possible to plug in without unplugging the fridge. Also, no tea or coffee provided. And there was a diffuser with the hairdryer, but the diffuser did not actually fit on the hairdryer. So really, there was no kettle or diffuser.
Overall lovely setting and helpful service."
"Bratsera Hotel was an oasis of calm in the bustle of Hydra town. The hotel has so much charm and character and all the staff were charming and helpful. I really appreciated the pool area after being out in the sun.
The only thing I would have liked was better storage in the room. There were no drawers, the bedside tables were just two large boxes and the wardrobe was half height so dresses got all scrunched up at the bottom."
"We really enjoyed our stay in Poros. Sirene Blue is less than 10 mins in a taxi from the port. Taxis are readily available.
The hotel staff treated us very well and we were particularly grateful when they were able to let us have our room early and also keep the room later than checkout on our departure day. I know that is not always possible but it is appreciated when a hotel can try to help.
The pool area is very nice although most people seemed to prefer the beach area.
Staff do a great job catering for all requirements."
"First off, the property is NOT an hotel despite the name. It is an apartment/guesthouse. The friendly manager is there only in the afternoons and early evenings. There is a pleasant but very simple self-serve breakfast in a small patio area. Rooms are nice with small bathrooms and daily housekeeping is fine. The other major drawback is the number of steps required to reach the place which is not made clear in the description or website. The property is not suitable for older guests or anyone who is not happy about climbing a lot (approximately 100) of steps to reach the place and go back down to the port area where all the shops and restaurants are located. The place does arrange a guy with a mule to carry your luggage up and down for 20 euros each way but people have to walk. Hydra is charming and quiet with some rocky coves. More of a town experience than a beach holiday."
"Beautiful property in terms of the grounds and landscaping. Beaches had clear water. the pool was super fun for the kids. The food was great. Granted it is not a Michelin star restaurant as you're not paying for that kind of level but I felt that everyone could find what they wanted in terms of salads, veggies, protein, deserts. The cleaning crew was excellent. They cleaned the room every single day and they did a great job. The check in staff was very helpful especially Elvis went above and beyond.
I think its a great value for the money but you also have to go at a time when the hotel is not overwhelmed meaning if they are at full capacity you have to be more patient. If you go in May like we did or September and after chances are you will be much more satisfied than going at the peak of the season."
