I suggest at least one night stay on the island. Head down to see the puffins if you have time and it’s the right season. Very easy to walk around the main spots around town.
Take the Eyjatours Puffins and Volcanoes bus tour. You get to see many wonderful sights and learn a lot about the island in about an hour and a half.
