"This is a special kind of Bed and Breakfast, it's the one kind that stays in your heart. It's located in the old fortress remains and have a special kind of atmosphere. Our hostess is one lovely lady and she makes the tastiest yoghurt and marmelade we have ever tasted. Everything is homemade. We highly recommend it"

Between sea and mountains VINGRAU the step of the ladder - France
8/10 Good
"We had a great holiday in Vingrau.Positives Great view from the giteVery well equippedGreat rooms size and having 2 bathrooms is great for a family. The owner was brilliant and very responsive to any requests.Quiet locationPool is a great size and a nice cooling site. Shamed it is shared with the other gite on site.NegativesLack of air conditioning in the gite despite the description on Vrbo ( we were told before coming but were told that the gite stayed cool in the summer ) this became a struggle due to the high temperatures encountered.Location is a bit far from shops.Overall we really enjoyed the region and the proximity to the sea, the french markets and to Spain. We also visited Carcassonne which we loved."
"Spacious and comfortable propoerty, close to the village centre. We particularly enjoyed the private pool and the multiple balconies. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and diverse "
Tautavel: Large house in village between sea / mountain with gardens / terraces
10/10 Excellent
"Just needed to turn up and relax, everything needed was to hand. Obviously been a family home in the past with all the treasures of the past.Loved the various terraces and the area under the Mulberry Trees relaxing in the hammock or in recliners. Peace abd tranquilty and such birdsong including being serenaded by a Nightingale! Stunning setting for a village. Visited inland and the coast (Collioure being our favourite) during our 1 week visit. Temperatures were 31oC on our last day. The only thing I would caution is the staircase to the upper 2 bedrooms, which is not something the family can do anything about. Risky for older people with mobility issues or children. Would love to come back and spend longer here. "
