"My room’s AC did not work properly. Maintenance had to come in at 5am as I could no longer bare the heat. Maintenance said the AC was fine when standing in a certain location. That was upsetting when the whole room should be cool. Front desk staff of morning shift said why haven’t we complained earlier…..???? We complained at 5am and they were going to change our room at that time and front desk overnight shift did not contact us. They definitely recognized that the AC unit was not working when they contacted us saying a new room will be waiting for us. Housekeeping does not knock and announce themselves!!!! Big issue!!!!!! Breakfast was good - however sucks that they didn’t allow us to bring breakfast back to the room as we wanted to have breakfast in bed. Sad to see the hotel not be like it was years ago."

"This is a tropical paradise. Great beach better than any on Island ( we checked and compared) room on 2nd floor with balcony with awesome view. Room a little rustic ; but we go for beach; a/c kept room cool. Mama Ines granddaughter is manager shared history; oldest property in Santa Catalina used to be their family home. Two cats kept us company. Next. Door to Surf camp; great frozen cocktails; Enjoy!!oh; ;dont arrive in island at dusk. Dogs roaming everywhere you will drive into one(wanted to bring one home) don’t believe weather forecast; it had clouds every day: we had loads of sun."

"We received a warm welcome from Dawn and Ally upon our arrival and had a lovely couple of days in their beautiful space. It was spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable and the air conditioning kept the space reasonably cool. The pool was refreshing and much appreciated given the heat. Dawn and Ally provided valuable suggestions and guidance for local activities."
