"The house was a lovely old Cretan house renovated to a high standard, and Popi was a wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable host - really friendly and full of suggestions of where to go next. You will need to have a car to get around as it is not at all central, and do not expect a modern building - but it was full of character and the aircon worked very well, so in my eyes it was perfect! I would happily stay here again, and hope to do so some day in the coming years."

"Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. "

"I like the hotel like home. Cozy and yes not so luxury but very friendly ambiance that, silent. One bus to the airport and to city and near the beach for jog or walk. "

"The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The first room was by a rather busy road but they kindly moved us to a better, quieter room. Our room had a hot tub which was clean and lovely and warm. The breakfasts were good with a nice variety of hot and cold choices. We would certainly recommend this hotel and go back again. . "
