Top Valdez Hotel Reviews

Keystone Hotel

Keystone Hotel

8/10 Good
"This property was built by Exxon decades ago for the workers on site to clean up the Exxon Valdez oil spill. It’s dated but it’s mostly clean. The rooms are extremely small but the beds were comfortable. There are no bedside tables and limited charging / electrical outlet access. They do have good WiFi. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. If you’re looking for a nice luxurious hotel, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for a relatively clean budget place to sleep, Keystone is great for that."

"Great central location for walking. Hotel does have a left over odor which seems to be lingering from when smoking was allowed inside but it's tolerable. No elevator, only stairs so just a heads up. Overall it was fine and would stay here again."

Black Gold Getaway .....Walking distance to town

Black Gold Getaway .....Walking distance to town

10/10 Excellent
"This home was absolute perfection for our needs. The 8 of us spanned ages from 4-64, and consisted of 2 couples and the family of 4 with a 4 yo girl and 6 yo boy. The master BR was perfect for the family of 4 with a large air mattress to accompany the queen bed. The other 2 BRs were very comfortable with good beds and all rooms had ample storage for clothing. The bathrooms were great. The kitchen was outfitted with everything we could possibly need. Plenty of dishes along with cookware and excellent small and large appliances made preparation of Alaska's bounty (salmon mainly) easy. The laundry facilities are great! The living room is really nice with a super comfortable couch and television. Our evenings were made fun with a large selection of board games as well. Valdez itself is perfect for a base of operations! We took salmon fishing trips in the sound, sightseeing trips, and if you hit the salmon runs, fishing from shore (near Solomon Gulch Hatchery) can be excellent. There are excellent hiking opportunities, both long and short and the wildlife is plentiful...bears, sea lions, eagles, ... Communication was perfect all the way through. I cannot possibly recommend this home highly enough!"

"We enjoyed a nice stay at this property in Valdez. Communication with the host was great. I would stay here again. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, paper towels, sponges, laundry detergent, and other amenities were provided. The coffee machine and fresh coffee in the freezer was a nice perk. It was also nice to have laundry onsite. Issues were handled promptly. Improvements could be made to the maintenance and cleaning of the property (a deep cleaning would be recommended). The towels and couches were worn. The garbage disposal kept clogging without us putting any food down it. I would stay here again in Valdez since it was a nice place to stay with family."
