"Staff unfriendly, No English at all. The center air conditions in my room was no cold air comes out. A small portable air conditioner with very little cold air. The room was very hot . Not even little coffee for me to drink in the morning. I think their cup in the room never been washed, I used their cup to drink water in the morning, I had stomach pain and diarrhea in the noon time. Etc. I would never live there again. "

"I cannot recommend the The Base House Kinosaki enough. There were 4 of us staying for 2 nights and we wish we could have stayed longer. The Host of the property was fantastic. He was gracious, courteous, incredibly helpful, and went above and beyond at all times. He was very easy to communicate with and responded to our emails and texts right away. His willingness to shuttle us to and from the town was also amazing. The Property itself was great. It is an enormous house with plenty of...

"Everything was done for a perfect stay, from the delicious food, the comfortable rooms, to the ideal location and delicate attentions. But most of all, the personnel who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional."

"Staff was very accomodating! There was an English speaking staff member that sat down with us and explained everything we needed to know from how to wear the Yukata to using the 7 public onsens. The room itself was quite spacious and very tidy. We tried both of the private onsens on the premise, they were both clean and very relaxing to sit in! Check-in and check-out was easy, there were plenty of amenities on the premise, and they allowed early baggage drop off. Can't recommend enough :)"
"The room, the staff, the private onsen, and the Kaiseki dinner were all amazing. The staff welcomed us in from the cold, took care of our bags, set us up with our own boots for the snow, and taught us how to tie up our yukata’s within minutes of arriving. It was an immersive experience that felt like a home away from home, and will forever be our favourite experience in Japan."

"A reasonably priced ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen, which is tattoo tolerant. Very good breakfasts and dinner in traditional ryokan style. Very accommodating staff. Nice additions to their onsen area are sauna and outdoor cold plunge, not often found in Onsen. A bit of a hike from town but convenient free shuttle service. "
