Oze Iwakura is one of the largest ski resorts in the Kanto area with 16 courses, 9 lifts + 1 gondola, and 697 meters (2,286 ft) of vertical descent. It's said to be best suited for intermediate skiers and snowboarders, but there are several courses for advanced and beginners, too.

It's not as crowded as other more popular ski resorts and because there are so many advanced skiers, we had a great time snowboarding down several courses and didn't have a any trouble getting around.

Location: Gunma prefecture

Best to come by car, it's a 2-3 hr drive from Tokyo. (Parking on weekends are free if you have more than 4 people in the car!)

Or you can come by shinkansen, closest station is Numata Station on the JR Joetsu Shinkansen Line, then another 50min by bus.

"這裡是一間感覺就很舒適的郊區民宿，我當初是因為趕著在出發前一個星期訂的，所以這裡距離新幹線車站比較遠，但是大大降低我的預算相較於大火車站附近。外觀看起來就是很大的日式深山家庭的樣子，房間不多，我猜是6間吧。一進去主人就馬上解釋哪裡放雪靴，滑板與各項設施。這裡有大客廳讓客人去使用，雖然很冷，但是電熱毯桌子好舒服，在那裡吃了小7買的需微波晚餐，還有熱水泡茶，大電視看日本綜藝節目，哈沒想到還有公眾浴池，很棒啊以民宿來說!可以一次泡四個人的溫泉喔早餐很營養豐富，因為主人家也會吃，所以食材不馬虎喔！請看我的照片嘍雖然遠離各地，但是主人會馬上問你隔天行程，去哪滑雪，何時載你去與回來，其實沒啥交通問題只要你都想好，照時間表走就好。適合最多到四個人來住，開車更好，都有位子停，白天外面的精緻很美啊！"

"温泉の中心部から少し離れていますが、湯畑の喧騒から離れて落ち着いて過ごせました。料理がポイントの宿で夕食は一斉となります。オーナーがソムリエでワインの種類は充実しています。一緒に泊まった妻がアルコールが駄目なので私もノンアルコールにしたのでご主人は少し残念そうでした。ノンアルコールのワインとかがあったら気分だけでも楽しめたかもしれません。施設は古くなっていますが、手入れは行き届いており、ベッドも快適でした。24時間の温泉があり、宿の中で何度も温泉を楽しめました。また行きたいところ思います。 "

"Villa Green Grass guest house is a family business and it runs at professional level by a very friendly couple together with their mother. My family felt totally at home. The guest house itself has lots of space and is nicely organized to fit to specific needs of skiers (such as a special room with heat to dry all your wet clothes after a full day skiing). "Excellent, cozy hotel in Nikko. Comfortable room and bedding. Very clean and well designed. Nice lounge area and a great selection of quality curated food you can reheat on the kitchen area. I wish the Marriott’s in the US were as nice. Staff was terrific. Several good restaurants are 5-10 minutes walking distance and the main sights are a pretty 30 minute walk but taxis and buses are also available."
