5 miles from Kirkwall and easily reached by car from the ferry, or just 3 miles from the airport, this beautifully renovated cottage on a working farm is an excellent base for an unforgettable island adventure with friends or family.

Spend some time in Kirkwall. Enjoy our lovely local sites, shops and eateries. There are several outlets where you can buy local produce to enjoy. Don't miss the chance to visit the magnificent St Magnus Cathedral, the Earls and Bishops Palaces and the Orkney Museum to learn about the island’s fascinating past. Explore historic sites such as the ancient village of Skara Brae (22 miles), the standing stones of the Ring of Brodgar (17 miles) and the Broch of Gurness (12 miles). The dramatic Churchill Barriers (5 miles) and the beautifully decorated Italian Chapel (5.5 miles) are also must-sees. Take a day trip to Hoy, where the recently opened Scapa Flow Museum in Lyness offers a powerful glimpse into Orkney’s wartime history. In Orkney, you are surrounded by beautiful beaches, and there are plenty of walking routes too.
