"I had paid Expedia for our stay yet our host insisted we pay her a further €99 I have reported this to Expedia over 2 weeks ago and yet nothing has happed I will not use Expedia or this chamber de haute again"

"Great weather , we had a wonderful time. The older children enjoyed sleeping in the cottage. Great out door space, enjoyed the bbq area and the tennis court. the bbq did need cleaning before we could use it. On the down side, broken out door lighting meant it was very dark in the evenings. The pool is small. Not enough cups if everyone wanted a hot drink and no bowls. ( we had to buy bowls so the children could have cereal in the morning) One of the toilets was very dirty, There wasn't a gym. "

"My 5 year old summed this up best: ‘I wish we could live here!’ The property was idyllic. It was set in huge private grounds that are not overlooked by anyone except horses and donkeys. We had all our meals outside in the sunny courtyard chatting around the large tables and listening to nature, under the shade of the tree, and spent evenings there also under garden string lights. We loved the pool - the kids spent endless hours in it and the adults could relax on the comfy sun loungers under the parasols. There was also a pool cover and the area was gated so very safe for kids. The area was incredibly quiet - we could cycle on the roads from the property without coming across many vehicles, and visited many pretty villages in le perche region and saw beautiful churches, went to nice markets and played mini golf. But we didn’t need to leave the property - there was enough there to entertain us - the pool, table tennis, darts, badminton, bikes, table football, hammocks, swing, river, donkeys, ponds and frogs, games (we loved pickomino!) and tv (that was never turned on!). The accommodation was clean, had everything we needed, beds were comfortable, floorboards were on the creaky side and doorways low for taller guests, but authentically renovated and full of character. What a privilege it was to have spent a week in such a lovely, peaceful place. "

"This little gem is amazing! We booked it for a last minute stay when we found ourselves in the area and it was getting late and we were tired of driving. What a pleasant surprise! The rooms was absolutely adorable. Loved the attention to detail! It was so clean! We had a really lovely stay and will definitely be back next time we are in the area! "

"My fiancee and I only stayed one night at Chateau de La Riviere, and I wish we had stayed longer. Communications with Alice, one of our hosts, were clear and easy. Upon arrival, we were told that we were the only ones staying that night! This made it feel like a fairy tale - a chateau all to ourselves! The historical flavor of the property made us feel like we were back in the 17th century. We were served an excellent multi-course meal by Chef Carole, who not only prepped and prepared our meal, but personally served it to us. Upon our departure, we were offered a private tour of the Chateau by the owner. The owners, their new puppy, and sweet dog were lovely hosts. They provided a custom and unforgettable 24 hours. "Not luxurious, but perfectly good for a one night business stay. Tucked away in a industrial/retail estate. Room was in a delegate block to the reception and breakfast room. Good continental breakfast offering. Would stay again. "
