"The staff, Filomena, Maria and Eugenio were super friendly and helpful all the time.
The view is just amazing, just like the name of the B&B, a paradise. What was nice is that it is still a small hotel, which allows it to be very personal.
The pool was a definite asset, the rooms were very comfortable, and included a little kitchen. Breakfast, Italien style, was plentiful with lots of home-baked goods and stunning views.
Lots of lovely corners to sit and enjoy the view. The garden with lemon...

"This hotel was amazing. From the checking in Staff to the location. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The location was in the middle of everything and easy to walk to and from. Very clean and although it is an old hotel, it is remodeled. Love their decorations. Breakfast was very good with great staff at the restaurant.
Excellent all the way!"
"We booked the Grand Hotel Excelsior to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary — our first trip without our three young children. Unfortunately, due to back-to-back medical emergencies (a serious spinal injury requiring treatment for me and a car accident leaving my wife with a broken toe), we needed to discuss our options with the hotel.
Over a three-week period, I called multiple times and sent over 10 messages through email and Hotels.com. The hotel never responded to a single one. When I managed to get someone on the phone, I was told they could not speak with me and to send an email — emails they never answered. Hotels.com also attempted to contact them on our behalf for 14 consecutive days with no response.
I was not demanding a refund. I was simply asking to have a conversation — to discuss a possible date change, to understand accessibility and accommodation options given our injuries, and to explore any flexibility. They refused to engage at all.
I understand that non-refundable policies exist. What I do not understand is a hotel that will not communicate with its paying guests under any circumstances. No acknowledgment. No response. No effort whatsoever.
We lost over $1,000 on a reservation at a hotel that could not be bothered to return a single message in three weeks. For a property that markets itself as a luxury experience, the complete lack of customer service was shocking. Hotels.com also said that their hotels are allowed to fully ignore customers. Tread light"
"Poor area. Horrible parking with trash and graphiti everywhere. Drivers are crazy. Inside the hotel great but leave anywhere and its like a video game. Empty offices, homeless burning garbage, just wild."
"Best stop of our trip! Location was great, room was amazing and views incredible. Breakfast was delicious and staff was wonderful. We will definetlty be back!"
"Check-in was excellent. There was a crowd of folks(a tour group) occupying the lobby. We could barely enter. The person behind the counter recognized it immediately and motioned for us to approach and check in.
Leaving was another story. While they'll call you a cab, they don't have doorman service like most first rate hotels. This is a uniformed person that flags the cab, directs him where to stop then assists you to it. We were on our own, couldn't locate the guy, crossed the 6 lane street 3x and finally jumped into another cab.
The room was very nice. The only downside was the shower stall. It was really TINY. Was like a travel trailer. We are not big people. If you are, it is a definite consideration."
"Hotel was beautiful & Surrounding gardens to walk thru lovely. Breakfast buffet very good. Our 4th floor room overlooking the gardens was beautiful with all the amenities. The bar area was great & food was very good. The pool area was also beautiful too. Staff were courteous, professional and friendly, especially Antonio in the bar who took care of us every night! Overall an exceptional place to stay in Sand’angello, Italy! Loved it!"
