Telica is an active volcano. We got to the edge of its crater and were mesmerised by the sound of lava. The best part was to watch the sunset and afterwards see the lava in the dark. It is possible to camp there, but we headed back to León. Next time we'll make sure to stay longer in León, since there are so many activities to do around this beautiful city.
After hiking up the side of Telica Volcano just outside of Leon, Nicaragua, we all took a break to have a snack and watch the sun set behind the volcanic skyline. It was simply amazing! After the sun finally disappeared behind the horizon we hiked up to the edge of Telica's crater to stare down at the bubbling lava. #hiking

Room was good...however no window. Somewhat noisy at night...due to other guests... undisciplined children...and street noise. Breakfast good...reception and wait staff friendly and helpful.
