This was so close to downtown-so close to the New Years eve party & Tavira was beautiful. However - had booked 4 nights, but left after 1 night because it was not comfortable for our group. I will qualify my remarks with - this was a winter stay. Here are some things we didn't expect about this property - -The bedrooms have heaters, but it takes a day for them to catch up. It felt colder inside than outside and the beds felt damp it was so cold. We wore our coats and hats indoors & everyone hid in their rooms under the covers with heaters on to stay warm. We were unable to interact as a group.-There seemed to be a problem with the hot water. The best we could get was luke warm, so showers were uncomfortable in the freezing bathroom with cold water. half the group skipped the shower.-It was a holiday so responses from the host were a long time coming. -All but 2 of the bedrooms have outdoor corridors & most up dark stairs at night. Some rooms had no heat. -Had it been warm enough to gather inside, there is only a kitchen table and a 2 seat sofa. So it is difficult to find a way to enjoy gathering time in the winter or bad weather. The gathering spaces are all outside. The terraces were beautiful, but we were there in the wrong season.-The construction is such that you can hear a quiet conversation outside. -Guests are expected to not flush toilet paper, but throw it in the garbage can. That is not something we are used to doing.-Beds are HARD!
