"The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is excellent. The TV is equipped with Netflix and other streaming services and easy to use. The location is superb for exploring Gion and Higashiyama, and not far from a metro station to get to the rest of town. The free shuttle service to and from Kyoto Station is a nice bonus. The one negative is that the gym is quite small, with only a few free weights and a treadmill. If that matters to you, consider a guest membership at a nearby local gym or a different hotel. "

"Staff was great. Very friendly. I've stayed at 4 hotels this trip to Japan. This staff was the best at recommending things to do and what to see given the short amount of time I had in Kyoto. They even helped give me good tips to get back to Kyoto station via train with my luggage. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. The location was a concern at first, but it was a great location getting home at the end of the day and also not too far from the forrest. Really appreciated the free bus shuttle from the forrest and golden temples. This was a surprise. I suggest see the temple first then see the forest in the afternoon. (and take as much time as you can there at the forrest. "
