"Breakfast was very good but very crowded Staff was friendly and very helpful. Unfortunate we couldn't store luggage at the hotel after checkout and had to rent a storage locker at the train station until 3pm."

"Richmond Matsumoto is good value for money. It is just 5 mins walk to the train and bus stations, modern and clean, and walking distance to Nawate and the castle. My only gripe is the breakfast, which is delicious but unchanging. I visit Matsumoto yearly, and hope they switch up the offerings to make it more interesting for guests who stay a few nights."

"Convenient location just 8mns from the train station. We also found good restaurants just minutes away and the Matsumoto castle is close by as well as the YAYOI KUSAMA Museum. Rooms are on the small side and plastic shower cabin adjacent to the toilet are not typically associated with hotels in this price range. Breakfast had a good array of Japanese food choices and some western options too. Staff is very friednly an helpful. Onsen is quite nice with a hot bath inside and another outside. There is a cold pool and a sauna."

"A lovely hotel with nice decor. Ozuwa (apologies if I spelt her name wrong) was very very kind, welcoming and helpful in our check in process. She was amazing. Fantastic extras include a welcome drink, and the option of Ramen or ice cream between 8 and 10 PM. A memorable addition to the hotel stay!"

"The staff was very helpful, I could leave my luggage at reception and they took it up to my room so it was ready for me when I checked in. There are four different baths public baths: main bath;outdoor bath, and two smaller ones which had different herbs in them. Breakfast was also very good. Location is convenient for the train station and the lake. Overall enjoyable stay."
