Waterfront Cottage with own Beach and Stunning Views Across The Clyde
8/10 Good
"There is no doubt, this is a fabulous place to stay, large, comfortable, equipped with everything you could think of or need, peaceful and the most amazing views. We last visited 5 years ago and enjoyed our stay once again. However…… just a little disappointed to see that not much ‘interior maintenance’ has been carried out in the 5 years since we were there. There are some areas of the property that could do with some attention to detail and general repair that would make the stay even more enjoyable. However we would still recommend a stay here without question."
"Fabulous location with a great bar & restaurant. The bedroom was warm, comfortable and well appointed. The service by the staff was tremendous. The food, beers and whisky was absolutely tremendous, the best of my trip by far."
"This was my second visit to the flat. I was again impressed by the fresh, clean atmosphere. The kitchen had everything necessary for a short or long stay. The bedrooms were airy and brightly decorated with superbly comfortable beds.My favourite sitting position was close to the lounge window so that I could easily check on the ferries! All kept time to the minute. The beaches were clean and quiet so perfect for walking. The Cafe at Ettrick Bay had been refurbished and the menu was excellent.Campbell, the host, was in touch with me shortly after my arrival to check if I had settled in and he told me of upcoming events. He was easy to talk to and as an elderly person I felt reassured with his friendly manner. Wouldn't hesitate to return.MR"
"Staff did the best they could and were extremely friendly but the overall stay was a big let down. We quite understood that our room would not be ready before the specified time but, as the website had mentioned a snack bar/deli we thought we'd spend some time there. Unfortunately it had closed some time ago. Although there was comfortable seating in the reception area it was freezing. We subsequently discovered that the hotel is only heated for an hour or two in the morning and again in the evening. We ate in the dining room the first evening and found the food was mediocre at best. The breakfast, however, was extremely good. It's a pity that the breakfast times were incorrect on the website meaning that our travel arrangements meant we had to skip it on our second day. Overall, very disappointing. The hotel seems to be catering for coach parties visiting for evening meals and not for the individual traveller."
"We had a fantastic minimoon at Crinan!! Food is 11/10. Staff 11/10! Location is absolutely stunning. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. We had a room with a balcony and the views are out of this world. The boat trip on Ross Ryan’s boat The Sgarbh was incredible. We saw seals and Sea Eagles and sailed around the islands. This hotel is a true Scottish gem!"
