Fish on Log Cabin Rental Got Fish We Do!!

  • Just bring your clothes and poles and relax in our 2-bedroom 1 bath log home. Just 3 min from the river and 10 min to town. Or just sit on the covered porch and enjoy with a book and watch the wildlife or your favorite beverage. Our home has all log furniture and a queen bed in the master bedroom with queen bunk beds in the 2nd bedroom. Save money BBQ, Smoke, and process your own fish and store them in our 2 large freezers. Want help planning your trip or choosing a guide I will be glad to help you make the right choices to make your trip something you will never forget.

    PLEASE NOTE : I do not supply Laundry soap ,dishwasher soap, vacuum bags , shampoo & coffee.

    Antibacterial soap & two rolls of toilet paper are provided .
    We advise that you purchase your basic household items and groceries before coming up to the cabin.

    The cabin is 15 minutes away from a major grocery store.

We loved the Fish on cabin. And the kitchen was really well equipped to make any meal. The decor of this log cabin was all about fish and so fun. Not knowing the location of how far the salmon has swam, we did need to go back to Coopers landing. My grandson loved it and the ferry too. I would love to stay here if I ever got back to Alaska.

First time visit to Sterling for me and my son. We could not have been more pleased with the quality of this VRBO. We also had an issue on our end where we needed to get a last minute fishing license printed, and Kelli was more than willing to help us out. I hope we can go back in the near future for another stay.

Our time at Fish On was great! The cabin was very clean and well stocked with what we needed. The location is quiet, yet located in an area where there are many things to do. Curtis was very good about checking in and making sure we were having a good stay. We have stayed at Fish On before and plan to stay again in the future.

Seriously one of the best stays I have had in Alaska. Great cabin for a mid-sized group (6-8) on a Kenai adventure, or a group of fisherman. Super well stocked and the queen sized bunk bed was big and well constructed for 4 grown fisherman who needed their space. If you have to share a bed, this one was a good one. The cabin itself was facinating in its decor. Very rustic feel with modern ammenities. Curtis was super helpful, easy to work with, etc. Close to 4 Bears market and 10 minutes to Fred Meyer in Soldotna. We will be back.

Fish on

Great place to be centered between Homer and Seward with many places in between! We’re going to have to get back from Central Oregon again to cover more trails and rivers.

Great cabin

The cabin was a perfect spot to locate on the Kenai Peninsula. The place was clean, quiet and had everything you would need to call it home for a few days. Curtis was easy to work with and was quick to answer questions and give suggestions.

We loved our stay at Fish On! Curtis was great about calling and following up. The cabin was very clean and decorated in a way to make it feel very homey. A fisherman’s dream

Curtis has a cabin that is set up perfectly for people looking to experience the Kenai peninsula and fish. His set up is ingenious and his cabin is so beautiful. Thanks for everything.

Favorite place to stay

I book this cabin every year for a father’s and kids Alaskan fishing vacation. The cabin itself is beautiful, it has all the supplies we need to cook while we are there. It has ample freezer space to freeze our fish before flying back to Washington. We have always felt safe and appreciate the quietness of the cabin, one year we saw a moose!

Repeat customers

We’ve stayed here before and booked again because the Fish On Log Cabin is the perfect size for our group, located centrally to all the places we wanted to visit, and is well appointed with all the things we need/want - including an extensive movie library! The washer/dryer is also a huge bonus and much appreciated. Communication with Kelli was speedy when we had questions about trash/recycling too - thanks Curtis and Kelli!

Everything was very good. Probably the best stocked rental I have ever stayed in. Thank you so much for the vacuum pacer and use of the cooler and freezer. Only issue was the dishwasher didn't work.

This property was better than the descriptions and photos. Very impressed and will definitely visit again. VRBO needs to create a new category for Curtis, the owner. Great communication, great recommendations for charters, great amenities at the cabin, i.e. deep freeze, vacuum sealer, overstocked kitchen, great beds, extra fishing equipment. Everything perfect. 5 stars for the property and Curtis. Thanks Curtis.

Awesome Cabin

This was a wonderful place to stay! Everything was as advertised and then some. It is the quintessential cabin, with furs and wood carvings. We loved the extra fishing gear to borrow, vacuum packers and freezer room. Add a washer and dryer and the gorgeous views! We will be back for sure. Thank you Curtis for sharing your beautiful place, and Sarah for having everything so clean. Fishon cabin is a treasure!!

Alaskan Treasure

The cabin is just beautiful. Everything is very clean, warm and welcoming. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, a vacuum sealer and freezers. The location is amazing for fishing and wildlife viewing or just relaxing. An hour and a half one-way to Homer, Alaska and a hour and a half the other way to Seward, Alaska. The easy drive to both has the most beautiful views with so many places to stop for pictures. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great Alaskan getaway. Thank you for creating this beautiful space and sharing it with others.

Exceptional Vacation

We can hardly say enough about this VRBO. Clean throughout, well stocked, great amenities, good location, and an owner who goes out of his way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Our only issue was the uncomfortable bed. Because of my back surgeries, I require a bed with good support. And, unfortunately, this bed sags in the middle. But, other than the bed, we enjoyed everything about our stay.

Very nice home and well-equipped

We stayed for about 8 days and had zero issues. I'd suggest anyone coming, visit the house first to make a list of what's there and what you need to buy: coffee, tp, dish soap, vacuum bags for fish, spices, aluminum foil, etc. You will not need paper coffee filters for the next 15 years! Plenty of those. The queen bed in the master is VERY soft which is probably my only 'complaint'. House is convenient to the entire peninsula (we drove to Seward a few times and down to Homer also). With my Verizon Android phone I couldn't send or receive even a text at the house. My wife's Verizon iPhone could. My work AT&T Android phone could surf the net but at 3G/sometimes 4G only. For 'real' internet access you'll need to drive a ways down to Soldotna to the Fred Meyer store. They have free wifi you can access from your car. Not a complaint, just fyi for any looking to connect, send photos while they're visiting, etc. I personally loved the disconnect. Sign the guest book! My suggestions for improvement would be: to buy a new, matching set of pots/pans for the house (lids didn't seem to fit any but one pasta pot), an electric boot dryer would be a great addition too along with a French Press for coffee. Also, there's a GREAT binder of guides/maps/things to do in the area but it's long overdue for an update. If you're looking to fish or process what you've caught there's a nice selection of quality rods available to use and everything you need to process. A cutting table, a smoker (you'd probably need to buy wood chips for it), three industrial size vacuum sealers, and a gigantic freezer and cooler in the garage labeled 'guest use'. If you prefer to let someone else do the processing you can drop your catch off at Kasilof seafood processing in Soldotna/Kenai and they'll portion and vacuum seal your catch and box it ready to go home on the airline for you. Cost was around $1.50lb. Great cabin, super clean, would definitely book it again next time!
