The Merchant's House, BW Signature Collection

8/10 Good

"My only criticism was a very noisy air conditioning unit that made getting to sleep difficult. Breakfast was excellent with eggs cooked to order. Reception staff were very helpful."

George Hotel

8/10 Good

"Beautiful old pub in the centre of Frome so the location is amazing, parking is a touch tight. The stand out for this place to me was the staff, every single person I spoke to was friendly and really welcoming which as a lone traveller makes you feel instantly settled. I stayed in a single room which was dated but a decent size and had everything I needed, the little touch of oat milk in the room was great attention to detail. Breakfast was lovely and it was nice to see a vibrant and active pub."

Gray Manor Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. A little worn but everything worked. Comfortable room which was cleaned daily and biscuits etc replenished daily which often does not happen in hotels costing 5 times as much. Staff were helpful/pleasant especially the young man doing the breakfast. The breakfast was really good considering the price. Ample parking and food/bar menu good value for money."

Old Mill Salisbury

10/10 Excellent

"What an outstanding hotel! A location painted by Constable no less. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the view is idyllic. Open the window and relax to the sound of the weir. We had lunch & breakfast and they were both lovely. The staff are charming and a special mention must go to the wonderful Tracy. A 10 minute walk across the meadow and you are in the centre of Salisbury. We’ll definitely be returning."

The Chapter House

8/10 Good

"The hotel was well situated right by the Cathedral, just walk across the road and through the gated door and you were in the grounds of the Cathedral. Covered in scaffolding as the roof was being replaced/repaired as advised on their website, and stood up well to the recent storm! It is 800 years old and there is no lift as it is a grade 1 listed building. As such the stairs are a bit wonky and would probably be difficult for very elderly or disabled people but the friendly staff were there to carry our suitcase upstairs. Room was good, but tv remote didn’t work properly ( not batteries as I swapped them with the ones from the other remote), and heating seemed a bit temperamental, but fan heater was provided so all good. Lamp hanging out ceiling was not good but still worked. Probably needs a lick of paint but as they say they are concentrating on the roof at the moment. We stayed for dinner on 2nd night and that was super - went for the South African/Portugese Trinchado. Disappointed with breakfast on final day as it took the team 40 minutes to deliver 1 eggs Benedict and 2 poached eggs on toast despite asking the waitress twice what was happening! Only resolved when the young man in charge got involved - he was very good. Similar thing was going on with some other guests. No parking at hotel but could park just round corner from hotel, 2 or 3 minutes walk, at a discounted rate for £10 All in all we were satisfied with the majority of our stay but would go back again."
