Story Book Vintage Northwoods Lodge Loaded With Charm & Comfort
10/10 Excellent
"We really enjoyed our stay; the cabin is very beautiful and cozy, well-built and well cared for, skillfully decorated, and with a lovely lake view. Our bed and linens were very comfortable, Because the house was so solidly built, noise does not travel much within the house, and the all-wood floors do not creak at all. If the weather cooperates (we were there after Labor Day and it was a little cool/rainy), the screened porch is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view etc. The kitchen is very well equipped with virtually anything a cook might want. The hosts were very kind and immediately responsive to a couple of issues that arose. One bonus was that after a few days of bathing with the water in the house, everyone's hair was unusually soft and shiny -- I would love to know what's in that water! The lake itself was very pretty to look at, and quiet when we were there (again, after Labor Day), although it's basically a big 'bowl' with not that much for kayakers to to explore, which we like to do, and the water was a little murky. We very much enjoyed the sunset views from the fire pit, and the included firewood. The one downside for us was that there is a small lumber processing facility right next door, cutting logs into firewood. We could hear the chain saws intermittently (fortunately not all day or every day), but when running the noise was significant. There was also construction noise from the lot on the other side of the house, but I assume that was temporary."
Beautiful Birchwood Lake Cabin; Awesome Fishing & Sunsets, plus game room!
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful setting for family gatherings. Travelled with adult children and young grandchildren. Breathtaking views of lake and sunsets. Quiet retreat. Great fun fishing for all especially kids. Comfortable and well appointed property. Host was very responsive and communicated well."
Modern Cabin located between Grindstone and Lac Courte Oreilles
10/10 Excellent
"Great little cabin in the Northwoods! Beautiful interior that has been remodeled recently- still smelled new! The porch was a hit and we spend our evenings there. Plenty of extra items for your use in case you forgot something. The host was extremely attentive and answered any questions promptly. The binder with entry and exit checklists were also very helpful. Just minutes from shopping, restaurants and Grindstone Lake. Would recommend! One thing to note is that there is NO air conditioning, which caused an issue one morning as it was very warm and we were getting ready to go to funeral. Otherwise we had a great time here!"

The Bucktail Hideaway on Grindstone Lake
10/10 Excellent
"This property was beautiful, relaxing and perfect for our family getaway! We had three families staying together — 6 adults and 4 children, all age 2 and under — and there was more than enough space for everyone to spread out comfortably while still having wonderful spaces to gather. The house was even better than the pictures — and the pictures are beautiful, so that’s saying something! We loved the beautiful old log-cabin decor combined with modern appliances, comfortable furnishings and spacious areas throughout. Everything felt warm, welcoming and relaxing. There was truly something for everyone. The game room, pool table, open-air bar, ping pong and indoor arcade-style basketball were big hits. We especially enjoyed the large dining table, high-quality grills, long deck with great lake views and hot tub overlooking the lake. The sauna and workout room were wonderful extras. The lakeside lot was beautiful, with a campfire ring, gorgeous views and plenty of room to explore with our four-wheelers.Our favorite part was definitely the lake access! There were plenty of kayaks and paddleboards, and we had so much fun kayaking, paddleboarding and swimming to the floating dock. There was also plenty of room for our two recreational boats, which was a huge bonus. The house was exceptionally well equipped, with all the cookware and kitchen supplies we could need, all high quality. Multiple bathrooms, washer/dryers and ample towels made things easy for our large group. We also"
