"Clean, updated rooms in our cabin, BrushyTop. Great view from our balcony of the valley. Easy access to the dining/lodge area of the resort. Tasty meals with good sized portions and great views at the dining area. This is a great place to do little and relax or go hiking/ sightseeing all day and come back to a good meal and good night's sleep. Stony Man Mountain is right next door with the best overlook of the western slope and valley."
"I was pleasantly surprised for our stay. We would have stayed another night if we didn't have a time issue. Everything was SUPER clean, it was old, but taken care of. The property manager (owner?) was so super nice and welcoming. There are even chairs to sit on in front of your room so you can enjoy the night time. If you are in Luray and need a place to stay I would definitely give The Cardinal Inn a thumbs up."
"We stayed in a two-room suite. The sitting room smelled very musty. We had to keep the door closed and we couldn't use that room. Fortunately, the bedroom didn't smell. When we arrived, there was no parking to be found because the property had a wedding. We ended up partially parking on the lawn."
"The room was dirty when we got in. The amenities are outdated. There is a very cozy feel in the rooms and the lodge, but the price for the rooms is far too expensive. Keep the rooms outdated and charge $100 or update them and keep them at current price. If we come back we will be looking for alternative lodging"
