"Room was clean and tidy on check-in but because it was very hot the room had no AC but they supplied a fan that did nothing to keep it cool. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The bar was well stocked and had all the drinks I needed. Breakfast was delicious and being a vegetarian the vegan full breakfast even included my favourite vegan black sausage. We had dinner in the restaurant which excellent and the waiting staff were attentive."

"My stay at the Mercure Hotel in Pembury was okay. My room was on the ground floor and adequate. The bathroom was very clean and cleaned for the three days that I stayed there. The bed was made and the room was clean daily and I have no complaints about it. The room was adequate for my needs.. The only slight grumble I have is that I did not find the staff very friendly. Sometimes there was nobody on reception at all and when I went to check out, I couldn’t see anybody around and was unable to...

"The hotel was disappointing, it is in need of updating. Our room was very old fashioned and the bathroom felt unclean .On one of the hottest days of the year there wasnt even a fan to help cope with the heat. On the positive side, all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was nice but I dont think we would chose to stay here again ."

"As other reviews have said the property is old and creaky and furnishings and carpets could do with being updated. The hotel is right next to the castle, pubs, restaurants and-supermarkets and is a great location. It’s a shame really as it could be really nice if a bit of TLC was added to the rooms and especially the entrance which really needs attention. Another Plus is the staff are really nice."
