"Hotel San José has a fun boutique feel and definitely captures an Austin vibe. The cottage-style layout, friendly staff, and small cocktail bar made for a great stay. The rooms are very simple. Bare concrete floors, minimal décor, and basic furnishings. It is utilitarian and comfortable but not luxurious. Be aware the pool is pretty but tiny.
The hotel is a perfect location if you are wanting to be in South Congress. South Congress is a trendy area for restaurants, coffee shops, and high-end retail shopping, and downtown is a short rideshare away. If you're looking for Austin's live music and eclectic arts scene, though, South Congress may not be your first choice, as it is much more upscale and retail-focused.
We would definitely stay at Hotel San Jose if we were to stay in South Congress."
