We had an amazing experience at Hotel Della Fortezza! The unique atmosphere and historic setting made our stay truly special. This was a bucket list item - stay in a castle!! it was a real treat, the room was very clean, bed comfortable, great shower. Easy and free parking was a bonus, and so easy to walk around Sorano. Why not stay in a castle when you have the chance?

We really liked our stay at the Fortezza. It is not luxurious, but it more than makes up for it with bucketloads of character. It is a great place from which to survey Sorano from above and to descend into its charming labyrinths. The associated restaurant in town was also really good.

Our room had amazing views of the surrounding town, the breakfast had fantastic coffee and a wide assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, and pastries. You cannot beat the setting: a 900-year-old fortress on the top of a hill! There is a great buffet breakfast available, but no restaurant on premises. The staff are friendly and dedicated.
