"Frank is a true Maine gentleman with a special place up there in Kingfield. The cabin is exceptional - privately nestled among the birches just above the Carrabassett River, minutes drive to Sugarloaf and the best in local eateries. You’ll marvel at its delightful wood carvings, lose yourself in the morning view from its soaring livingroom windows, and relish in the evening warmth from the amazing stone fireplaces. When the snowy winter winds blew through the valley, we were perfectly warm and comfortable. This was the ski retreat my kids were hoping for. We very much enjoyed staying at Tahoe East and getting to know Frank through it. "

"Everything about our stay was excellent! Room was clean. Beds were very comfortable and the blankets were warm and soft. Continental breakfast was great. It snowed a half a foot during our stay and the parking lot was clear in no time. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Rates were very fair and affordable. "Annual deer camp. Really neat camp. Slept 4 and 5 of us really well. Very impressed by how well stocked the house was with things like linens, paper products and kitchen supplies.The only trouble is access. Its built into a hillside so all entries are stairs. We had snow, which we look forward too but outside entries iced up leaving the interior garage stairs. The stairs inside the garage are narrow and steep. You get used to them but theyre tricky for the older crowd. Listing should note the pictured wood stove is not for use. My group and I burn wood at home and were looking forward to warm up by the fire as we often do after a daybin the woods, but its use was not permitted. Totally get it, most people cant be trusted in a pine camp with open flame.Again, neat spot, very comfortable, met our needs very well. If we hunt the forks again, we'll be back!"
