"Beautiful setting that blends with nature Refined Kaiseki-ryōri meals Free predinner and midnight light meals, free beer and highballs 2-10pm! 4 indoor outdoor private and public onsens Friendly helpful staff The only flaw is that the venue is getting old. Needs renovation Pricy but worth the experience. "

"A really unique hotel with a gorgeous view of the lake! We enjoyed the grounds, architecture, and an amazing breakfast and tea at the restaurants on the property. A special and convenient location in this area."

"Clean and amazing views. They have drinks and snacks there for you which is great. Check in was fine but had to call a few times to get through to verify my ID (there’s no staff on site, so virtual check in with codes to access the room). Great location and would definitely recommend. You are paying a premium in April for the views but as a special treat it’s so worth it. We sat in the private onsen and sauna for hours! "

"We stayed in a villa - it was lovely but the open air bath was smaller than it looked in the picture. We were a family of 4, and hoping to all be in it together but it was sized to hold 2 people comfortably at a time."

"Our first stay in a Rakuten property and it won’t be our last. Loved the room, which was more an apartment really. Every thing we would or could need was provided though I wasn’t expecting a telescope to see the stars! Check in was digital and very easy. Welcome pack was unexpected and very good - especially the red wine. Loved the private onsen and balcony foot spa. There was also a sauna but we didn’t use that. 10/10. "

"Clean well maintained property. Despite right next to train station, the room is very quiet due to double pane window. Nice laundromat which you can monitor the availability and progress with TV in your room. "
