"This hotel was my favorite during my time in Taiwan. Very cute, comfortable, AMAZING staff who really go the extra mile to help out and ensure you have all what you need. Washer and dryer were very convenient. And they offer snacks to hotel guests. 10 min walk from the train/bus station. Quiet and convenient. Would definitely stay there again.
The only thing is that there aren’t good restaurants around (imo). I don’t recommend going to the all-you-can-eat bbq restaurant nearby, I had the worst meat ever there (unrelated to the hotel but this info could still be useful). But there are Family Marts / 7-Elevens around and you can get decent instant noodles. The hotel provides hot and cold water. They also have bikes you can borrow and they can help with car rental (you need an internal driver licence in Taiwan).
You can take bus 310 nearby to Taroko park (takes over 90 minutes though). Buses and trains work well, are cheap, and reliable."
