"Really accommodating host.
We needed an early check in and this was sorted for us no problem.
Clean room. Comfy bed. Good shower.
Although no-one manned the reception, the host was easy to get hold of and made the stay easy as pie.
Thank you very much"

"Nice quiet pub setting, we had a meal each night and a breakfast each day and could not complain about anything, short walk to the rooms, helpful staff and good beer!"

"David and Lorna were very accommodating. A lovely little B&B with a nice freshly cooked breakfast, highly recommend. We stayed in the Portland room and had a little balcony "

"The room was beautiful and one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. However the parking is ridiculous. You are told on arrival you must pay for parking for the duration not per day. This is an issue because you spend most of your evening driving around to find a space. The spaces are very small so your car is at risk of being scratched daily. The breakfast is shocking for £17.50 a head so avoid at all costs. The staff on reception and breakfast seem short staffed and short tempered. I also did not have my room replaced for towels or cleaned for the duration of our stay. Such a shame as the hotel is very pretty but the service did not replicate this for me and we would not stay here again"
"Really dated and tierd but staff making best of what they have.
We visited in a heatwave so perhaps not a true reflection but was stifling. No air con. A small broken (span but didnt move side to side)fan provided that pushed the warm air around and the next morning fans had been put in the corridor.
Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast staff a bit abrupt but again perhaps the heat!
We booked for a short stay and the surrounding countryside and shaftesbury Town are lovely. The hotel is situated on the main road although still quiet and lovely garden etc. Gpod location for the town etc
Unfortunately the pool area is not nice. Changing rooms really dirty and the pool water really cloudy and murky- the main reason we chose the hotel was for the pool.
All in all was fine for an overnight stay and room was clean. Just a bit old fashioned and dated for us and the pool area need some attention"
"As a family we had a good stay overall, very clean, well maintained furniture, big beds, beautiful bathroom with incorporated shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand gel and body lotion.
The room had included a hairdryer, iron, safe box for valuables, kettle and various coffee/tea selections; however for a family room there was NO FRIDGE which I found unusual especially when travelling with a toddler, it should be a necessity in a hotel room.
There wasn't anywhere to dry our towels/bathing suits, and for a hotel near the beach it doesn't make sense, also we couldn't open any windows- felt a bit claustrophobic.
The AC was very useful during the heatwave.
Not a lot of storage space.
Lovely breakfast served everyday, plenty of food options, the waffle maker was definitely a nice touch.
For a short stay it was alright, but I wouldn't book here again.
Luckily it was at a good price.
Thank you for our stay xx"
"Upgraded to a seaview room. Room comfortable and clean. Had requested a large bad which we got. Good breakfast. Outside is a little tired but location excellent."
"Rooms was spot on cleaning.
Bar staff and restaurant helpful and guide as needed it .
Spa staff was great welcome and explained proper all the facilities as been used .
Breakfast welcome staff ready to accommodate you . As food buffet the scrambled eggs was overcooked and big suggestion for the future chef need to use probe and not his hand to see if the food is hot big FOUL AS GUEST SEEING THAT .
Small improvements can make the hotel nice destination.
Receptionists was really great but will require type of bell sometimes took long to show up . Not a complaint, I understand maybe they have another responsibilities."
"Still the best place to stay in Poole. Shower was awesome, enough room to get a rugby union team in!!! Great location near the restaurants on the Quay and a ten minute walk from the train station. Deluxe Room was very spacious and had an iron bath in the corner!! However, mattress was too soft and the pillows too 'fluffy'. Just a personal note, but we needed hard mattresses and 'dull' pillows. Breakfast is over-priced (plenty of coffee shops/delicatessens in Poole), but if you need to eat one, buy the Cooked and go all in!! Large bar area and restaurant. Fabulous building all round, full of history - you can learn about one of the previous owners in nearby Poole Museum."
