"Overall it was a pretty experience, despite a crazy hot weather in summer. If not the weather you could be able to walk to pretty much most of the attractions in town. Very well kept newer hotel. Good size rooms very well equipped for a comfortable stay. Very nice bathroom. Coffee/tea area features very nice as well! Bedding is nice. 3 main Cons: not a good sound insulation: it is pretty noisy, if you are a light sleeper like me, there is a road and fire station nearby. The receptionist was nice to move us to the upper floor after our first night. Which helped a little. Onsen was not that great, pretty small and water was just always too hot to be able to properly enjoy it. Around 40C. And the main reason why I may not stay here again was actually the breakfast. I have been probably at over a dozen hotels in Japan and this hotel’s breakfast section was the worst one, unfortunately! Very poor selection. I felt like I was back in USA or something .. On a good side, I was happy I didn’t have breakfast included in the stay which I usually like to do, because it’s sometimes hard to find anything open before 11am and it’s just very convenient to have a buffet breakfast at the hotel, which is pretty amazing usually."

"This is a great place to stay in the heart of Kyoto. Just next to Nishiki market and lots of shopping. Rooms are small as would be expected. The beds are double beds (not queen) and the room isn't much bigger than the bed. No way to get more than two people in a room. But I got two rooms for 3 people so it was fine. It was still an exceptional value. It's not a business traveler's hotel -- no space to work in your room. But for a tourist on my own dime it was perfect. I would definitely stay again."

"It was a nice little Place for what I needed. I spent most of the time traveling around but it was good for a place to sleep and shower. The breakfast was good early in the morning and they do offer Dinner too but I did not take advantage because of the good food in Japan."
