"Due to appalling use of AI by Hotels.com I was unable to change my dates before travelling, but the staff were as helpful as possible, until I was able to speak to the manager on Monday morning. He did exactly what I had been asking before trying to effect a change through Hotels.com, offering me an extra night's accommodation if necessary. What AI cannot appreciate is that due to several ferries and often inclement weather conditions Shetland is a difficult area to pre-book, especially if travelling with a vehicle from Aberdeen. Not usually a problem, but if changes cannot be effected online it can be chaotic. Plus, Expedia should realise that many people are not able to access the internet at all times, for varying reasons. There are many areas of the world outside big cities where you cannot get a phone signal. Scalloway Hotel 110% Hotels.com nil"
Central Lerwick holiday apartment

"We were super happy with the apartment. James and Mandy sent us all the info we needed well in advance, so no issues with checking in. The rooms are great, and it's actually a very spacious apartment! Perfect place to relax for the night. Beds were comfortable and everything you need to make a coffee, tea, or small meal is in the kitchen. On top of that, the location is fabulous! Walking distance to the main streets of Lerwick. We rented a car to explore beyond town. We'd definitely rent again."

"Pleased to have booked here. Thought the price a bit steep but had a very pleasant three nights stay? Staff amazing, cheerful and helpful and nothing too much trouble. Building is tired double glazed units blown etc but really enjoyed my stay. Food excellent loads and nice and hot. Free breakfast not mentioned so very grateful. Be warned croissants dissapeard quickly."

"The room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was comfortable and the staff friendly. The breakfast was nice and it wasn’t noisy despite being next to the road. Overall a nice place to stay when exploring northern Shetland."
