Aston Lock, Trent and Mersey Canal, Derbyshire The third of six wide locks raising the water level by from Derwent Mouth to Stenson. This one drops the water level by just over eight feet (2.46 metres). Although two narrowboats can enter the chambers side by side (almost fourteen feet together in width)other canal constrictions limit craft to a maximum of ten feet in beam.
