"It was hot and dry during our weeklong August stay, though the mornings were cool and the home’s air conditioning provided much-appreciated relief in the afternoons. The river running right behind the house is by far its greatest asset. The large deck provided a lot of space to stretch out and observe the daily wildlife, doze a bit, read a book, and just relax. The home carries itself with a quirky charm. The kitchen has been updated with new appliances and had a reasonable selection of pots, pans, and dishes for meal preparation. The internet service proved extremely reliable, allowing connectivity in an area that had no cell coverage and 4k streaming to the large-screen television for enjoyable, laid-back movie nights. Having a washer and dryer was also a great help as we didn't have to pack as many clothes. The beds were comfortable, although having only two bathrooms, with the one upstairs bathroom being en suite, was a slight drawback. The air conditioning only vented into the shared living areas, leaving the upstairs a bit stuffy and necessitating opening windows for better ventilation at night. Even on warm days, the evening air outside was pleasantly cool, and the riot of crickets and frogs along the river was to us a calming source of white noise.Gina was an extremely helpful host as our stay was disrupted before it started by a nearby wildfire. An evacuation order was eventually rescinded, but Gina was flexible and accommodating as we navigated our options."
