"The property is a delightful 19th century cottage. The views are incredible. The property owner goes above and beyond in what she provides. We will be back. "

"Everything was clean. The modern kitchen offered everything that we needed. The living room was small but cosy with the log burner. The staff satisfied our request with a baby high chair (a travel cot was also possible but we did not need it). The only issue for us was the shower which was not very powerful."

"We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The only drawback was the Wi-Fi, which took several attempts to connect and was inconsistent. We didn’t use the pool."

"We had a really nice time at crag view. The apartment was lovely, had plenty of space, a well equipped kitchen, the beds were comfy and was a perfect location."

"Great hotel in the heart of Windermere, short walk to lake where boats go on the trips and close to shops. Slight hill getting back up to hotel. Lovely cocktail bar, pub and eating areas. Breakfast was fab. Hot tub was worth it after a day walking it was so nice to relax in. Spotlessly clean and as the old saying goes ‘you get what you pay for’; worth every penny."
"Lovely warm rooms, on a particularly cold weekend, spotlessly clean and including very useful kitchen, sofa, table and chairs. My only area for improvement would be better communicating that these rooms are essentially self-catering. A small amount of tea, coffee and milk is provided as a welcome when you arrive, but you really need to bring your own if you are staying for more than one night. We came in unequipped for self-catering, but there was a small shop for essentials and a bar/restaurant for lunch and dinner on-site. Staff were also extremely helpful in directing us to a nearby truckers’ café that did really good breakfasts. I would definitely stay here again."
"The staff were all very efficient and friendly. The quality of food was excellent along with the service and very reasonably priced. The facilities were well maintained and the room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Very quiet and peaceful with great views of lake Windermere. We will certainly be back."
"Great location, good breakfast, comfortable room, my only complaint is I couldn’t get a good signal for their WiFi didn’t work, and I was there for work, but overall a great stay. Walking distance to many things and amenities "
"We had a lovely one night stay. Staff very friendly. Our room was lovely and clean and breakfast very good with a good choice. Will stay again, thank you"
"Highly recommend this hotel lovely friendly staff on-site car park has chargers for electric vehicle vehicles.
Fantastic spa and swimming pool food was superb in the two restaurants.
It’s right at the south of Lake Windermere so literally you can walk over to the ferry to do a ferry cruise to Ambleside or Bowness on Windermere Winder - it also has an aquarium and a steam train during the summer month.
We didn’t bring our dog, but it is a dog friendly Hotel you really enjoyed our stay and already planning on bringing the dog for another trip

"Underwhelming. This is a very ordinary hotel, despite the hot tubs, pool and spa. The decor is vile, all dull browns with turquoise. In the “Troutbeck” room there is a nasty trip hazard into the bathroom. A stubbed toe was annoying but a cracked skull would have been more so. Tip: if it’s not fixed put a rolled up hand towel down to fill the gap and catch your attention.
Pillows were like sandbags and need immediate replacement. The mattress had an uncomfortable lump and was likely in need of replacement too.
The hot tub was good, as was the jacuzzi bath. The fridge was handy, and the chairs comfortable enough for a short while. Free parking on site.
The building is a maze of corridors and stairs. Regrettably the lift was out of order for the first 24 hours or so. As a walking stick user this was less than ideal.
Breakfast was okay but not special. My choice of evening meal, “roast of the day”, was almost inedible. Vegetable selection poor. The wait staff were pleasant but scruffy, in contrast to the smart and highly exuberant maitre’d. It is far from being a gourmet restaurant and there are other places to eat."
