"The only thing good about this place is the breakfast was decent. The ladies served the meal were very nice and welcoming.
Be prepared to drive thru a super long pothole-filled single road and finally arrived with nothing to eat, no where to eat, and the reception staff offered no help and couldn’t care less.
Unfortunate, this was not a place that meets the Scottish hospitality standard. Will not return."
"The location of this hotel was excellent. RIght on the main street by the water and next to the high street. The hotel itself was "interesting". There was no lobby or restaurant open and there wasn't always someone at the front desk. There is no elevator, but the female staff carried up my heavy suitcase four floors. "We had a great stay here. Located in a historic building and a stones throw from the cathedral so easy walking distance to Kirkwall attractions and easy access to roads for all parts of the island.

It is a historic building so stairs and corridors but clean and safe with a comfy bed, what more do you need?
