"Beautiful location and a beautiful room. We stayed in a cave room and it was so nice! The bed was very comfy The hotel team reached out in advance and on the day of arrival to ensure we knew where to park and to arrange our transfer from the car park (15e return). The staff were all very friendly! Breakfast was great with a great view from the terrace Dinner at Regia Corte was a little underwhelming for the price but the pizza place was great! We enjoyed exploring the city everything in the old town/cava are is walkable from the hotel just lots of steep steps"

"The room was a great size and has magnificent views across the Sassi - ideal for watching the sun rise. The bath is a generous size and the management were very helpful and very responsive. The property is ideally situated as it is at the top of the Sassi meaning not too long a walk from the main square or having to drag your cases across the cobbles. We stayed in the suite on the roof, adjacent to the roof terrace, which provides additional views across the Sassi. A very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend."

"We loved this hotel. The location was fantastic, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Staying in a cave room was such a unique and cool experience, and the room itself was gorgeous. The spa circuit was amazing, and the included buffet breakfast was fantastic, especially with the made-to-order options. We would highly recommend this place."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Cenobio Hotel in Matera. Staying in a cave hotel was such a unique experience and felt like the perfect way to experience the Sassi, while still being incredibly comfortable. The climate-controlled air conditioning worked wonderfully, and the room was a welcome retreat after spending the day exploring Matera. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was Mario. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to take care of us. He met us in the piazza where our taxi dropped us off and helped us carry our luggage to the hotel, which we greatly appreciated given Matera’s many steps and stone streets! He was also incredibly helpful during our stay, including assisting us with restaurant reservations. The combination of the beautiful cave accommodations, wonderful location, and genuinely personal hospitality made this one of the memorable stays of our trip through Italy. We would highly recommend Cenobio to anyone visiting Matera and would happily stay here again."

"We booked Albergo di Sedile 12 hours before our arrival due to a Stayz host suddenly cancelling our booking with no notice. What could’ve been a disaster turned out to be a solid silver lining. What a fabulous albergo! We were greeted by the wonderful Francesca who looked after us like the Qweens we are during our four night stay. She answered WhatsApp messages after hours, acquired a porter to spirit our luggage from the office to our room at the hotel, brought us things we needed late at night and was an absolute gem. Grazie mille Francesca. 😘 The dining room team were terrific at breakfast time and the food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. Our room was spotless, a minor issue with the shower flooding the bathroom floor (because a Qween probably didn’t completely close the door) was solved almost immediately and the bar fridge was totally appreciated. Its position down the stairs from the restaurants, shops and Matera Sassi life in general but without passing traffic noise or calamity was highly valued. Highly recommended."
