"This property has a great view of the harbor and a rooftop pool. The staff is very friendly. It is a larger property so the rooms feel very standard issue. Breakfast was very good. My only complaint echoes another reviewer's: there are some type of very small ants that were present in the room during my stay. I found this annoying. The restaurant, Americos, is excellent. If you value a view and a hotel with a pool that is convenient to the ferry, this is the place. Personally, I would explore other hotel options if I were back in Mindelo, but I would definitely go back to Americos."

"I booked the hotel through Expedia, based on the photos I saw there. The reality is far from the actual photos. The rate was a 5-star hotel rate or a high-end boutique hotel at $ 150; the reality is a 3-guesthouse. The location was on an unsafe street; the room was dirty, the bedsheet was old and looked uncleaned, and the toilet was broken and very dirty. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception, and we had to wait 30 min until someone in the street helped us call the guy.
