About this property
Cabin in the Cedars.Close to Lake,Town & Mountain
Our little guest cabin is located on our small homestead in the beautiful Sunnyside area of Sandpoint! Very close to lake Pend Oreille and our slough/creek! A haven for bird&wild animal lovers. Just outside of town, privately in the woods with big cedar trees, but still close enough to enjoy all the activities and places Sandpoint, Mt.Schweitzer and the surrounding areas have to offer.raveling with a bigger group or another family?Check out our 2.guest cabin www.airbnb.com/littlehouseinthewoodsb
"Cabin in the cedars" invites you to slow down from the busy life! Have a cup of tea or coffee, read a book or just look out the big window into the trees. Take a short stroll on the path that leads to the water or go for a longer walk to the big lake/park. You might just see Bald Eagles, osprey, turkeys or waterfowl. Many small birds also call our place their home. You may be lucky enough to meet or hear other North Idaho wildlife on our property; Mister Moose occassionally comes for a visit, too. On warmer days you can sit outside on the covered porch or have lunch on the picnic table. Grab a blanket if you get cold! Choose between sleeping in the cozy loft (low ceiling) or downstairs. If you pick the cozy loft, you must be able to climb steep stairs/ladder. There you will find two twin XL size mattresses--> feel free to move them together to make it a king size bed. If you prefer to sleep downstairs, you can pick the trundle or day bed. All 4 beds are memory foam. The living room and sleeping areas are open space concept, so you won't find a bedroom door ;) . The water in the shower is temperamental Due to limited power to the cabin, there is a tankless water heater which might not always keep up with the water pressure in the shower. The lower pressure you will use, the warmer it will be. Our guest cabin is cozy, simple and compact. Take its size (+/-350sqft) in consideration when booking.-->most pictures are taken with fish eye lense. Note that it appears bigger. The cabin is perfect for 2 people and ok for up to 4 guests. It can get tight if you travel with a lot of luggage and/or winter gear. There is a small kitchen with a countertop double burner, coffee maker, toaster and a mini fridge. There is no oven. To save you a trip to the store on the first day, complimentary pantry items are provided to get you started for a simple pancake or waffle breakfast with coffee or tea and if available, farm fresh eggs from our chickens. To stay warm, the cabin has a cadet heater and a pellet stove for the colder nights.
Located in Sandpoint, this cabin is in the city center and on the waterfront. Panida Theater and Bonner County Historical Society Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Schweitzer Mountain Resort and The Idaho Club Golf Course. Michèle was a great host and she was quick to respond to my questions. I also liked the unique little living space and only wish we had the time to have explored the surroundings.
This little cabin is truly surrounded by cedars! We loved the scenery, the beds in the loft, and exploring all the ingenious and welcoming details within the cabin. Every effort is made to make people comfortable in a rustic setting. And farm fresh eggs are included!

Absolutely loved my visit to 'Cabin in the Cedars'! So cute, clean, and quiet. The cabin was filled with whimsical details and the farm fresh eggs waiting for my arrival raised the bar (delicious!). Owner was responsive prior to, during, and after my visit. The next time I'm in Sandpoint, Idaho I'm staying at 'Cabin in the Cedars' - a true dream escape from city life.
This place is so cute! We just needed a break from the city. What a great little place. Was hoping to see some wild life, but all we saw was chickens, geese, goats, a cat, and a runaway cow down the road.lol So quiet, and the sound of the rain on the roof was so relaxing. Loved the pellet stove, too! Thank you!!
Amazing getaway for the wife and me. We only stayed one night but it was excellent and definitely worthy of 5 stars. The cabin was cozy and perfect for 2 people (though more could sleep of needed). We stayed in late July but the morning was a little chilly so if you want to go out in the morning a light jacket would be good.
The short walk through the woods was nice and there is a place to sit with a view of part of the lake, which would be nice to enjoy a morning coffee. However please be aware it's not a full view of the lake (I didn't go there with that expectation, though). We wanted to see the sunset and sunrise so we headed over to either side of the lake (10-15 min drive) to see them.
Thr cabin had delicious pancake mix, flour, and spices, as well as utensils, plates, hot plate etc., but we brought our own food as well and had an amazing breakfast.
It was quiet, serene, and had just enough cell phone signal to send a message to family but just bad enough to force you to put away your phone and focus on each other. We played card games, conversation and just enjoyed our time. We didn't bring any kids along but there are movies and a small TV with an assortment of movies for family and others.
Can't recommend this cabin enough!
What a delightful little cabin in the woods! This little gem was a perfect place for the two of us to relax and unwind after a day in the summer sun. It was so dark and quiet inside we slept way past our usual get up times! 11/10 would recommend.
The most perfect cozy cabin tucked away in the woods but close to sandpoint for all essentials. The host was so helpful and quick to respond to all our queries. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
What a cute and whimsical little cabin! We loved the vibe and all the thoughtful details. Michèle was a helpful and responsive host, and communication was excellent. The cabin is quite comfortable and absolutely cozy, though very small. The description lists two "rooms," but if you need space for more than two people, be aware that one of the rooms is part of the common area, and neither of the sleeping spaces is fully enclosed.
