Hotel La Casa de Don Tomas
10/10 Excellent
"Overall a nice stay at El Refugio La Casa de Don Tomas. The room is big and quiet and the location is roughly 10 minutes away from city center. Keep in mind that the rooms have no air conditioning so they get quite stuffy during the day. The breakfast is quite disappointing as it’s very basic. The sweet treats are very good which makes it overall a bit strange that the meal offering is so basic."

"The hotel and grounds was beautiful! The staff was very helpful and kind. Alejandra was especially helpful and welcoming. She helped us secure a transfer to the airport as well as recommendations for bike rentals and other information. The grounds has 3 lovely dogs on property who are adorable and sweet. The breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay!"

"Our stay at Casa Lickana in San Pedro de Atacama was absolutely wonderful and unforgettable. Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. The location is excellent, ideal for exploring the incredible landscapes of Atacama, while still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were fantastic—welcoming, kind, and always ready to help with every request. Their hospitality made us feel at home and added something truly special to our stay. The room was comfortable, clean, and perfectly suited for relaxing after a day of adventures in the desert. Everything was well organized and taken care of with great attention to detail. Casa Lickana was the perfect base for discovering San Pedro de Atacama. A beautiful place, excellent service, and wonderful people made this stay a truly memorable experience. We highly recommend it and would gladly return!"

"The hotel had a unique two-level layout, with the bed on a lofted top level and a small room with a bathroom below. The internet was good, but unfortunately, the staff didn’t speak much English. Also, the biggest downside was that it was pretty cold downstairs, while it was warm upstairs."

"Staff very helpful and friendly, although no English. Happy to converse using translation tools. Swimming pool was closed due to it being winter, which I didn’t reslise when I booked. A couple of times there was no water, no electricity and no wifi, but staff worked to resolve the issue. Breakfast was very good and there was free tea, coffee and iced drinking water available all day. I didn’t have supper at the hotel but did have some drinks at the bar by the open fire which was welcoming and warm."
