"Right on the edge of city centre, everything no more than 10 minute walk. Loads of restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. Hotel clean, tidy and comfortable, staff were superb, nothing a problem. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again. Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel de France."

"At the price point, this is a very superior hotel. It is approximately a block from the downtown Square near many many restaurants and all the rest of city center. Is this where I stay when I need to go to Bergerac. "

"Staff was very friendly and helpful. I inadvertently left a small item in the room upon departure. Housekeeping discovered it even before I knew of my mistake, the desk called me and kindly arranged to have it sent to me by post. (I paid for postage expenses, of course.) Very efficient and appreciated. "

"We had a lovely welcome and the house was extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we wanted. The small private garden and sun-trap patio were great, even in November, and surrounded by the large main garden. Most of the time it was silence outside, with just the sound of birdsong and leaves falling. Bliss! It’s a great base for visiting the beautiful towns and villages all around the area. We would definitely stay again."

"The room I was in was extremely noisy. Whenever somebody used water above me, I could hear it rushing through the walls or pipes. It woke me up several times over the night. I really wouldn’t stay here again, the lack of sleep was a little bit distressing."

"The property is lovely, although a little tired; the room was large with sofa, good storage and some strange wall hangings (think swords and battle axes!), but the bed was below par - two different beds pushed together that moved and were not very comfortable. The gym is good with a balcony that looks over the forest, and the spa was great with good massages and spa facilities. Overall, a recommend, but wish they would upgrade the bed, pillows and bedding to match to overall feeling of the hotel. "
