The Freddie Mercury Hotel

8/10 Good

"Great location, really close to the train station and the promenade. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Good breakfast at the hotel, which made getting on with our day nice and easy. The only slight negative was that we were there during a heatwave, and the central air conditioning system didn’t seem to cope very well - we ended up moving rooms and still needing a fan to try and keep the heat down. But other than that, we had a fabulous time in Montreux would definitely stay here again!"

"The location being close to transportation and places to see and eat was very good. Room was small with no air conditioning and no small refrigerator but good for money. The female staff at the desk were extremely nice and helpful specially Tanya but the man at the desk was very rude, unprofessional and not helpful at all"

"So beautiful! We were only 5 minutes walk from train station and Chateaux chillon! And we went swimming in the beautiful lake right beside the chateaux. Water was warm on top and cold deeper. Take the boat from chateau du chillon boat dock to Vevey or further if you can. So gorgeous! The hotel was wonderful. No air conditioning as with older hotels in Europe but breakfast was wonderful and we had a fantastic dinner. The staff was delightful and so helpful. The hotel is 200 years old."

"Really friendly and helpful staff here, easy check in process. Simple room well ventilated with window to open as well as a fan. Eu adapters didn’t fit here but thankfully reception staff were able to help us with this the morning of check out. Really great location super central for shops and restaurants, station also a short walk away. The lake less than 4 min walk! The shower was a little troublesome it had to be angled very strangely and still didn’t get the full benefit. Not a huge amount of space in the bathroom but perfectly fine for one night!"
