"Staff was nice and polite, breakfast simple and well done. Real issue are the rooms, maintenance is subpar, furniture, bed sheets and towels are all stained. There is no hot water in the bathroom, not when the faucet for hot water is present. It is oddly replaced in the shower by some kind of warming head, which gives lukewarm water at best, with apparent electrical wires and a smell of burnt resistance. Price and description did not reflect this service level. Not a great value overall."

"Amazing hotel. We had the premium room and the view was to die for, truly magical. Plus you get to see the sunrise from the room! Hotel staff were excellent and granted us slightly early check in which was nice. The amenities were great, including superb breakfast as well as the included tea time with amazing cakes. The area around the hotel is super safe and had no concerns walking around at night. In general we felt very safe in Paraty. Pharmacy and a small supermarket are within 2 mins walk. Very highly recommended."

"The room is Ok but it’s old and smells the old thing. Then the toilet smells really bad, the one of sewer. Then the air conditioner dripping over my head so couldn’t sleep properly in my bed. As there is an single extra-bed in my room, luckily, I did spent my 3 nights there. Otherwise, it’s OK . The breakfast is perfect, full of good s things to eat but it’s starts only at 8h, so you couldn’t start your day earlier. None of the staff speak other language than Portugal. The good thing is the location is in the old town, so it’s just 5-10 min of walking and the bus station is just 5 min away. "

"The room and location exceeded my expectations! Excellent air conditioning and water pressure in the shower. The beach and lively restaurants/bars are right across the road. I could hear the ocean from my room. The town center is just a 12-13 minute walk from the room. I will be staying here again in the future! Marcus the owner is very attentive and an excellent communicator. Silvana was cheery, welcoming and very helpful in helping me to get settled in when I first arrived. "

"I received a WhatsApp message from the property on the day of my arrival, which has conveniently been deleted, stating that the property didn't have a room available. I didn't see the message until I arrived at the property, but it had asked me to go to another property that cost less, had a less ideal location, and lower reviews. At arrival, they then put my friend and I in a room with one bed that was tiny, *absolutely disgusting*, and was not in the main building. The manager, without prompting, offered to refund this night, which I politely accepted. The next day, we got moved to the correct room, but it did not have any hot water for a shower, so we got moved AGAIN, to another lower quality room without a balcony. One out of the two beds was rock hard so my friend and I ended up having to share a bed. Several days after my stay no refund was issued so I reached out to Hotels.com and the property denied the refund and deleted their WhatsApp message. I've never left a bad review or complained to any service provider before, but this was a terrible experience."
