"Nice gardens surrounding the house/palace in an isolated natural place inviting to relaxing and enjoy nature. Only 30 minutes to Santoña and other attractions. Restaurant team very friendly but people at reception were not friendly not knowledgeable, so making some situations uneasy. Only breakfast and dinner offered at the hotel restaurants. Food was quite good. A couple of local small restaurants in the town. We likes Casa de Montaña."

"Arrived Tuesday, tired from a long drive from Toledo. Immediately looked after. Room was superb with a great view. Room was very clean, bed was excellent. Food very good. Loved the location of the hotel, after 20 days of travelling around Spain and Portugal this rejuvenated the batteries. An excellent hotel. "

"Atmospheric quirky hotel. Retains convent feel. Nice staff; good restaurant at night. Note it doesn’t do breakfast but good cafe nearby. No reception before noon. Good base for Bilbao - on commuter line to central station , one hour trip with regular trains ."
