About this property

House of the Sun

  • Sun's House is a charming apartment in a prestigious neighborhood. Its proximity to the Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Vatican Museums—as well as easy access to various modes of transportation—makes it an excellent place to spend a few days on vacation.
The location is also ideal for those who want to explore the city on foot.

It’s a neighborhood full of life both day and night. A tourist neighborhood that hasn’t lost its local character. On the same street is the “Trionfale” neighborhood market, open from early morning until around 2:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The market also has a paid underground parking garage open to the public 24 hours a day with 720 parking spaces, at a cost of 1.5 euros per hour or 20 euros per day.
The neighborhood is safe both day and night. There are various cultural, culinary, and historical attractions—not only the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica, just a few minutes’ walk away, but also one of the most popular shopping streets, Via Cola di Rienzo. There are classic Roman trattorias and pizzerias, as well as international restaurants and bistros serving Spanish, Venezuelan, Greek, and other cuisines.
The neighborhood is very well connected to the rest of the city, both by metro and by bus and tram, but for the more energetic, it’s also wonderful to take a stroll to reach the historic center. St. Peter’s Square, Castel Sant’Angelo, Piazza Cavour, and Piazza del Popolo are among the closest tourist attractions within walking distance.

Lovely Apartment near Vatican City

Lovely apartment minutes walk to Vatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica. Lots of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. Very easy to walk around and safe neighborhood. The owner, Sandro, was so nice and very responsive and always available for questions. The apartment had everything we needed and was a great size for 2 adults and 1 teenager.

Excellent Experience

This is a gorgeous place in the heart of the city, just a few minutes walking distance from Vatican city. The apartment was absolutely spotless and felt like a home. There are plenty of grocery stores, shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. Communication was seamless, the hosts are responsive and ensured our stay was comfortable from start to finish. There are also kids books, crib, high chair and toys available in the apartment, as well as smart TV, coffee machine, pot and all kitchen essentials. Bedding and the towels were cleaner than at most hotels we have ever been to. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would come back if needed to stay in Rome again.
