"Great staff, very clean and great breakfast!"

"We were put in a handicap room that was awful! It certainly would not be user friendly for a person with those needs. Our bad, we should have asked for another room."

"Easy parking and access from interstate. Diner next door and gas stations there as well. Bathroom clean and worked well but in need of cosmetic repairs."

"The room was Super Clean and quiet, parking was free and there were plenty of spaces. The woman who greeted us at the check-in desk was friendly and welcoming. Our room had a small fridge to keep our soda and water cold and the shower had nearly instantly hot water. We love staying at small, independant places for exactly this reason! The only thing that could have made the stay better is a hair dryer, but since I typically travel with one this wasn't a hardship. Thank you, Elk Inn!"

"Clean. Friendly and helpful staff. The night I stayed, there was plenty of parking. I went out for breakfast so I can’t come in on their offerings."

"Perfect location for dinner and wineries. Only complaint is the floors in the apartment and around the building were dirty"

"Exactly what we expected."

"Entire property very clean and well maintained. Dog friendly a big plus with pet bags and larger areas to walk. Nice courtyard with bbq grill, fire pit and picnic area. Lots of choices for continental breakfast. Staff efficient and friendly. Bed and pillows comfy."

"This place was quiet, clean, inexpensive, and within walking distance of downtown. It was also utterly devoid of charm."

"Horrible stay. All night noise with road construction and other unknown noises. Not much rest. Had to remove 3 stink bugs crawling on our ceilings when we arrived and a roach the next morning. Room smelled musky and outside by the stairs was a nasty smell. Sheets had cig burn holes in them. Place needs updating.Never again. Should be a one star or less. Not worth $85 a night. Please go somewhere else."

"I stayed one night I was alone the bed was soft and comfortable the AC / heater worked well it was somewhat noisy the little refrigerator was a little bit noisy as well. The picture of rooms online showed that there was a desk with a chair but there was not a desk, I was hoping to sit and study some at a desk. Since it is half the price of the nicer hotels you have to set your expectations lower."

"It was self check in, so we didn't see any staff until the next morning. We were the only ones there and pretty much had the run of the place. Beautifully furnished. There was no one else there, but we still wound up on the third floor and had to drag our suitcases up."

"The Virginia Highlands hospitality is evident in every employee at this property. From the moment we checked in to checking out the staff was helpful and knowledgeable about their community. We were immediately pointed in the right direction for good food, beer and music. The Breakfast was on par with the Hampton Inn Brand and the Breakfast room was immaculate. Hot tub was hot and our room was quiet. My only comment and this applies to many hotels; guests should be informed on booking that...

"Housekeeping did not clean our room—we had to go downstairs to the front desk to get our own towels. Kind of rundown—not a lot of options around Wilkesboro—I just say it was “okay.”"
