"We wanted to support a local hotel and not a chain, so we were looking forward to our stay at the Dunes. However, when we returned to the room after dinner, we discovered ants all over the nightstand and bathroom. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that there were large bits of food on the floor that hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests' stay. We were moved to another room two doors down, but that room also had ants. At that point, we were concerned about being bitten overnight and/or the ants getting into our things, so we went to the front desk to explain the situation. Though the worker who'd checked us in that afternoon was lovely, the one we spoke to that night was immediately extremely rude, hostile, and condescending, insisting that it's "the season" for ants and attempting strange, convoluted "gotcha" twists in logic to invalidate our complaints about the first room not being properly cleaned. When we returned downstairs, he smugly told us we'd told him the wrong names for our reservation as if he'd gotten one over on us, when neither of us recall sharing our names, just our room number. Thankfully, we were able to have our reservation refunded and moved to another hotel down the street that night (where management confirmed that "it's the season" is not a valid excuse for having ants), but we were really taken aback by the second attendant's attitude, which was bizarre and downright hostile."

"We enjoyed our stay. Although it is an older hotel , it was clean and relaxing. Reminder for anyone with blond highlights - the mineral water will turn it brassy. Next time I’ll get a special conditioner and not get my hair wet. It had an old school feel , simple and the staff was very helpful. So top notch chill"

"Hello. There was hot water running in the room, but the temperature was so cool that taking a shower was impossible. The sofa in the room looked very worn out, and the entrance door wouldn't close unless you gave it a good slam. There was no water in the fountains on the grounds—they are currently out of order—and the screen door leading out to the loggia was difficult to slide. However, the staff did an excellent job; they are a great team."

"Easy check in, clean room, great amenities. I only had one issue. I booked a King bed and ended up with 2 double beds."
