"My friend and I stayed here with the intention of experiencing Ireland outside of the city and it greatly exceeded expectations. The house was open and comfortable without losing it's farmhouse charm. What I didn't expect was how many truly nice experiences were nearby. Our focus was a home base while we did the Ring of Kerry and a bit of country exploration but it is oh so much more of that. The nearby town of Kenmare has incredible food and ample shopping. "We had a lovely stay at the Park hotel, well located only a 2 min walk from the town. Food for both breakfast and dinner was good. Staff were attentive. The swimming pool is nice and well heated. The setting with walk ways to the water edge was excellent. Our room while no major complaints perhaps did not live up to expectations of other 5 star hotels we have stayed in the past but was fine. We had specifically picked the hotel for a family room with bunk beds but had a room with a pull out bed instead for children which was fine as they were small but would not be suitable for older children."
